Cronulla MP, Malcolm Kerr today welcomed the news that security guards for the taxi rank at Cronulla were on their way.

Tenders for the service providers have been called.

Mr Kerr said that he expected the security guards to provide a safer environment for intending passengers and taxi drivers.

‘It would have been far better if the Iemma Government had provided additional police to crack down on anti-social behaviour and violence’ Mr Kerr said.

‘It is this violence and antisocial behaviour that has made Cronulla a dangerous place for the general public and taxi drivers in the early hours of the morning’ Mr Kerr concluded.
